MB BIM works with developers, owners, owner's reps, and design teams to develop BIM Project Execution Plans (BIM PxP's) for both design teams and construction teams. They can be developed for specific projects, or globally to become company and contract standards. The BIM PxP defines BIM goals and uses in design, preconstruction, construction, and building operations. The BIM PxP also defines technical and model content requirements, geospatial location, model sharing, and parametric data requirements.
Coordination processes, workflows, and requirements are also defined in a clear and consistent manner. Quality control procedures for the models are developed, and change management procedures are outlined. The document is prepared based on the current and future needs of the client and annotated to explain the goals and options to be considered on different project types, so that the client can easily understand and explain its purpose to design and construction teams.
The advantages of this service include:
-
Increase the quality and enhance the coordination in design and construction by maximizing the value of BIM processes. The document is developed to ensure BIM isn't being implemented just to check a box, but to provide actual value to the project.
-
Reduce the cost of the BIM process during design and construction by outlining clear requirements and processes for all team members. Bidders will all have clear and concise information to use to develop BIM budgets.
-
Provide consistency amongst models delivered to the owner at the end of projects to enable O&M model usage downstream or in the future. The PxP will ensure that every job will have consistent model deliverables that can be used efficiently for future renovation work or with facilities management software.
