Erich Bretz, P.E.
Erich holds a BS in civil engineering with a minor in computer science and an MS in structural engineering, all from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He worked as a design engineer at TGRWA in Chicago for a couple of years before moving out to Denver, Colorado in 2004 and joining S.A. Miro, Inc. as a design engineer. Erich worked up to a project engineer, working on a wide range of construction projects, including healthcare, educational, institutional, multifamily residential, resort, office, and retail projects. While with Miro, Erich became an in-house expert in Revit Structure software, and was instrumental in creating Revit content, templates, training, and transitioning the firm into BIM. In 2011 Erich co-founded MB BIM Solutions. Erich has presented at the Denver Revit Users Group, has taught classes at Autodesk University, is a Revit Beta contributor, and has also presented several webcasts.
Dan McCloskey, P.E.
Dan McCloskey received his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. After spending 2 years designing bridges for URS Corporation, Dan attended Purdue University where he obtained a master’s degree in structural engineering. Dan then moved to Denver, Colorado, where he worked as a structural design engineer and then structural project engineer for S.A. Miro, Inc. During his 5 years with Miro, Dan became an in-house expert in Revit Structure software, and was instrumental in creating Revit content, templates, training, and transitioning the firm into BIM. In 2011 Dan co-founded MB BIM Solutions. Dan is active in the Denver-area BIM community with Rocky Mountain Building Information Society, has taught several classes at Autodesk University, has been published in AUGIWorld magazine, is a Revit Beta contributor, and is also a Revit Gunslinger participant.
Ryon Pax, S.E., P.E.
Senior Project Manager
Ryon Pax graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2011 with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering. After graduating from the University of Colorado in 2011, he began his career as a structural engineer for S.A. Miro in Denver. While at Miro, Ryon became an expert in Revit Structure and helped to standardize BIM processes and services. In 2013, Ryon made a career change to the BIM world where he is now working for MB BIM Solutions as a Structural BIM Engineer. As a BIM Engineer, he works closely with contractors to maximize productivity and efficiency as well as minimize cost through the use of BIM. Ryon is a member of the Rocky Mountain Building Information Society and always looking to contribute to, and learn more from, what BIM has to offer through webinars, Autodesk University and other forums.
Steven Richter, E.I.T.
Structural BIM Engineer
Steven graduated the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2010. After living in Corpus Christi, Texas for a year while working on residential design projects, he moved back to Denver and joined Halker Consulting, focusing on industrial design and engineering projects in oil and gas. While working on projects throughout Colorado, Utah, North Dakota, and Texas, Steven was a key contributor to the development of the Structural Design Department at Halker Consulting. He helped to manage the structural scope of projects, develop structural design and engineering standards, organize and write proposals, and develop project delivery strategies. In early 2015, Steven switched career paths and joined MB BIM. He now work closely with clients, utilizing a variety of software, to integrate BIM strategies.
Chris Turnbull-Grimes, P.E.
Structural BIM Engineer
Chris graduated from Colorado State University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. While in college, he served as President of the student chapter of American Society of Civil Engineers and as a project manager for Engineers Without Borders in El Salvador. After graduation, he became a Peace Corps Volunteer, working as a teacher and building water systems in Kenya. Upon return, he took a position at Martin/Martin as a structural engineer where he mainly designed institutional facilities such as hospitals and schools. In mid-2014, he joined MB BIM, where he works heavily within Revit to perform a variety of services for clients, such as concrete lift and rebar shop drawings.
Bryan graduated from The University of Kansas in 2012 with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, he moved to Denver and began working for Halker Consulting as a Lead Mechanical Engineer on a number of projects designing oil and gas facilities throughout North Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Colorado. His main focus was involved with developing designs for the piping, equipment, and utilities for both new and existing facilities, as well as helping coordinate the efforts of multiple engineering and design disciplines. He was also instrumental in the development of the pipe stress analysis program at Halker. In 2016, Bryan joined MB BIM as a BIM Engineer with a focus in BIM development and coordination.
